Discussion: what there is to see in Matmata?

The tour Matmata is one of the best outlets for it to discover the real local life, visit the cave houses of Matmata, visit the house inside and drink a mint tea with the locals.

This allows the visitor to see more closely how people live in this village, to understand why they live in houses underground.

On this tour you also made the visit Ksours but most important is that it is known for visiting a place where one of the scenes of the famous movie Star Wars was taken.

The Tataouine excursion is really interesting and varied: you go to the souk, visit a factory that manufactures gazelle horns. You also discover the Ksour and the Berber village of Cheneni. The distance between Djerba and Zarzis is 115 km. Once laba ask your guide to show you around the 7 sleepers, it is a legend that remains between truth and wonder and it speaks of 7 people who have been sleeping there ba for years far, only their giant temples left. .

Discussion: Zarzis Djerba or?

Djerba is a tourist island which has more than 110 hotels on the other hand Zarzis is really less touristy. The number of hotels in la ba does not exceed 12. The distance between Djerba and Zarzis is 50 km. By car it takes between 40 minutes and 1 hour by car. There are public means of transport that make this trip every day: Bus and Louage (public transport). For holidays it depends on taste, if the person is looking for celebration and discovery it is better to go to Djerba but it is the person looking for calm and rest Zarzis will be a good destination. In zarzis there are different activities to do but much less than Djerba: - sea trips - Jet Ski - Parachute - Quad - Desert excursion But the best activity to do is to go to the Zarzis market on Wednesday or Friday and discover local life and the different local customs and habits

To avoid the crowds and the heat is to avoid July and August. If you want to swim well anyway, I advise you at the end of May or June. At this time the tourist season is just at the beginning, the temperatures are pleasant, the sun is there but just enough and the sea really makes you want! September is also a good period, it is the beginning of autumn but it is very often hot to be able to still enjoy the beaches but also to go for walks or excursions.

Yes it is very convenient and not too expensive to do this kind of journey: you will easily find taxis outside the airport, and the journey will cost between 5 and 10 euros according to the hotel's position in the tourist area . Taxis are metered you be entitled to require the use.

It is quite possible to pay in euros in Djerba but it depends on the provider and what you are going to pay. In general, in a store it is possible. It is also possible to pay for activities. It is always better to have dinars
